System Setup
The System
The Ahart Index is built on hundreds of thousands of responses across schools and organizations, linking system conditions directly to commitment, retention, and initiative. It identifies where the system breaks, what drives outcomes, and what to fix first.

The system is organized around three conditions: Coherence, Capacity, and Experience.
Coherence is the degree to which the system holds together.
Capacity is the extent to which people can take action.
Experience reflects how the system is perceived.
The system is delivered through three components: Pulse, Driver, and Voice.
Pulse shows the current state of the system.
Driver identifies what is causing that state.
Voice reveals how the system is experienced in lived terms—adding clarity, texture, and meaning without being treated as a causal driver.
Drivers are not assumed. They are identified within each system.
What strengthens outcomes in one organization may not hold in another. The system isolates the conditions that matter most in context, so effort is directed where it will produce results.
The system separates attachment from action, ensuring both are intentionally produced.
The outcome is a system that holds together, enables action, and consistently produces commitment and initiative.
